Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections

The Texas A&M Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections (BRTC; formerly the Texas Cooperative Wildlife Collection) is maintained by staff and faculty of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and is one of several natural history collections within the Texas A&M system. The BRTC houses important collections of fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, parasites, and marine invertebrates that are available for use by the scientific community.

As a resource for the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences at Texas A&M University, the BRTC host collegiate level laboratory courses including Natural History of the Vertebrates, Ichthyology, Herpetology, Ornithology and Mammalogy. In addition, we partner with courses outside the department to provide specimens that enhance the student's learning experience.
