Nederland

Nederland's heritage is deeply rooted in Dutch ancestry, which gives the town its name. Nederland was officially placed on the map on December 24, 1897. It was an adventuresome spirit and desire for a better life, which originally brought Dutch settlers to this site in 1897. That same spirit is found today in this friendly town which is easily, accessed by Highways 69, 96 and 287. It is conveniently located off I-10, between Beaumont and Port Arthur. Situated within a metropolitan area and only 100 miles from Houston, Nederland offers the peaceful lifestyle of a small community with the cultural, social and economic advantages of a city many times its size.
