Lone Wolf

LONE WOLF, TEXAS . Lone Wolf, on the south bank of the Concho River east of Fort Concho in central Tom Green County, was settled in the 1870s. Though Lone Wolf was at one time considered as a potential site for the county courthouse, one source indicates the town was never platted, there were no landowners, and most residents were probably squatters. In the 1980s a bridge remained at the water crossing on the Concho River, but the townsite had become part of metropolitan San Angelo and was no longer named on the county highway map.
