- Longhorn Day Use -
Longhorn Park near the Corps' Lake Office at the east end of the dam, provides a picnic area overlooking the lake on one of the highest points in the area. Swimming is allowed in undesignated areas, but the shoreline here is not suitable for wading, due to steep slopes. Longhorn Park is located at 7000 Lakeside Drive in southwest Fort Worth, west of Bryant Irvin Road at the end of Dirks Road. There is no charge to access the overlook and boatramp.Boat launch ramps are provided. A group picnic shelter with parking, lights, water and electric outlets, a ballfield, horseshoe pits, and sand volleyball court may be reserved for dayuse activities from March through October.
